Kessingland Labour candidate for East Suffolk District Council

Alan Green

Alan has lived in Kessingland for 35 years with his wife Sue and so has a strong understanding of the village’s issues. He is a founder member and Chair of the Friends of Kessingland Library, raising funds to ensure the library is there for future generations. He is also a former member of the Kessingland and Benacre Flood Protection Board and helped to secure funding for flooding prevention in the long-term, ensuring safety for residents and the beach area which is so important for attracting visitors in the summer months.

My priorities for Kessingland

I will campaign to improve the lack of thorough consultation for housing developments by working with the Parish Council to ensure the Neighbourhood Plan is adhered to.

I will ensure residents are listened to in relation to the planning of traffic calming measures for London Road and High Street.

I will campaign to increase access to town amenities such as the theatre and cinema in the evening by working with bus companies to extend the finishing time of 6.30pm to reduce car use and emissions.
